CFMB Closing: Frequently Asked Questions

Why is crossfit mission bay closing?

We were recently informed (last week) by the Mission Bay Development group that Pickleball courts are going to be installed in our grassy area in the next 30 days. The plan is for the courts to extend into our training space shortly thereafter, and reasonable alternative spaces in Mission Bay are not available, which unfortunately means we will have to shut down CrossFit Mission Bay.

What is the last day of classes?

April 28th 9AM and 10AM will be the final classes. We’ve expanded the class cap and Spark Social hangout after

I am a current CFMB member only - will my pricing change?

We will continue Mission Bay legacy pricing for 3 months (Until Aug 1st, 2024). Following that, expect a communication directly to MB athletes about pricing moving forward. Note: we will give all MB athletes our 2023 grandfathered membership rates.

Will you be adding new class times, or expanding class caps at CFPH and CFSP?

Yes. We are expanding the schedule as South Park, here's a screenshot.

Will you be opening another outdoor location?

We have no plans at this time.

Will we have a final WOD to mark the end of an era?

Yes. We will have a special final WOD on Sunday, 4/28/24 9AM and 10AM instead of Olympic Lifting and CrossFit Lite. Hang at Spark Social to follow.

Is it going to be harder for me to workout at CFPH or CFSP if MB athletes are going to now be attending classes indoors?

Classes open 36 hours in advance; sign up ahead of time. We have over 80 CrossFit and CrossFit Lite classes between CFSP and CFPH, so plenty of availability.

What's the parking situation at Crossfit South park?

Plenty of on-street parking, and Jack London Alley and all around South Park is free parking. Parking is impacted and more expensive during Giants’ games.

Is South park good for kids?

Absolutely. We have a kids' room, and if there's enough demand, we are going to consider offering a babysitter during certain classes.

How will coaching change?

You'll still see the same coaches you're used to at CFMB. They will be coaching classes at the indoor locations.

Will there be an in-person meeting to discuss this change?

Yes, we will hold a town hall meeting at CFMB at 11:30AM on Saturday April 27.
